Remember this?

Well hello there Duncan...

Do you remember this blog? We started it two years ago! You wrote one post which was quite funny and then, not surprisingly, we gave up on showcasing our excellent taste in the internet.

A lot has changed in the past two years. You are obviously older and somehow less mature at 12 then you were at 10. We live in different countries and I'm pretty sure that we both now have the same haircut. On the other hand, one thing that has remained the same is the fact that we both still spend lots of time on the internet looking at rad stuff and now, more than ever I want to start sharing again.

I was telling mom on the phone yesterday that it would be great if you dedicated at least a portion of the 17 or so hours a day that you spend playing video games and other stuff to doing something productive on the internet. A blog that no one reads is always a good place to start.

One thing that I have been really interested in asking you about is what teenagers or tweens (I think that's your formal classification) like to do online. I mean, I know that LOLZ are cool (are they still cool) and FAILS are bigger than ever (are they?) but seriously, what do the youth of today like to use the web for? I hope you stop being so lazy, put down your xbox controller and respond to this post because if you don't, that's an epic FAIL on your part.

Love you and miss you lots.

Skymall...the only way to shop

Hey Dunny,

I'm at work right now, so naturally I am surfing the web for hilarious things. You have to check out this link to WTF? Fourteen Odd Products You Can Buy from SkyMall.

Reading this makes me want to get on a plane and buy things that I don't need.

Love,

TT

p.s. you suck at blogging

Happy Birthday Duncan!

Happy Birthday!!

11 years ago today I was sitting in math class writing a test (which I was sure I was going to fail) and my giant, old school cell phone rang. I got in trouble from my math teacher but I told him that I was expecting a very important phone call. That call was dad saying that a little baby boy had been born that morning.

To celebrate your birth I wore a skirt and some ugly shoes. Fuzz and I drove to the hospital to see you and it turns out that you didn't do much. You made a couple of strange noises in your sleep, probably farted and were overall pretty boring. Boring and hairy.

That was your first birthday. A few days later you came to pick me up from school with Mom, Dad and Fuzz and we all brought you home together. All we did for those first few days was take unflattering pictures of you and of each other. We were a big, happy and slightly strange family.

At this point, you still didn't have a name. I was pushing for Austin and Ethan (names that I think belong to handsome men) and Mom and Dad wanted to name you Aaron ( I think) but after much debate, we picked Duncan after your grandfather. You are very much a Duncan and I think it was an excellent choice.

The moral of the story is that 11 years ago today, you made us the happiest people on the planet and you have been doing so ever since.

p.s. what do you want for your birthday? Dolls?

The future looks bright!

Hi Dun,

Hope you're having fun. I can't remember if I have ever shown you the website Ted.com but basically it's videos of the smartest and most interesting people in the world talking about smart and interesting things. Sort of like Youtube without all of the crap (it's not all crap, I know!)

Anyways, I just watched this inventor named Pranav Mistry from MIT give a talk called "The Thrilling Potential of Sixth Sense Technology". You will find this incredible--this best part is that when you are my age, the stuff he is talking about might be as common as a cell phone is today! Absolutely amazing.

The last thing he mentions is that he has made open source developer software available for his product. You should start thinking of cool apps that can be used with that camera. I think a good one for me would be to display the number of calories in the cheeseburger I am no doubt holding in front of me. Maybe it would cause people (me) to think twice about what they but in their mouths!

The future looks bright little bro.

Why Can't You be More Like This Baby?

Hi Duncan,

You told me that you posted something on here a few days ago and I'm sorry that it has taken me so long to check it out. I must say that you are a way better writer than I could have imagined--despite the fact that you are mocking me. What else is new?!

I checked out Freeman's Mind. I don't get it. I mean I get it but...well, I don't know. Where do you find this stuff anyways? I am really interested. You seem to always be watching these Youtube videos that marry the things you like: loud screaming music and video games. So, I have to wonder what you begin to search for when you are exploring Youtube. Maybe you can give me a tutorial one day?

On the subject of Youtube, one of my friends posted this video of this baby laughing. It is in all likelihood the cutest thing ever. I'm not saying that you should be more like this baby but...
The craziest thing about this one is that it has over 27 million views!! That's some baby.

Anyways, I hope you're having a good time in Mexico and that you are taking care of mom. I'm sure the parents are happy just to be around you. Look forward to seeing your tan and hearing about what you ate!

Love you lots and miss you lots.

Hello, Duncan here. Let me get to the point, me and my sister (the ever so enthusiastic writer of our stories so far) have come across a quite funny ad on Ebay about some leather pants.
You've probably already seen the ad. but it's very funny. Another cool thing that i found that's hilarious is the Freeman's mind YouTube series by Ross Scott. This is in the game Half-Life. It's hilarious, like i said.

I did something kind of cool

Good Morning Dunny,

How's it going? I learned today that Google was blogging about the 3D modeling project that we were working on. You can check it out by following this link: http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2009/12/going-for-gold-with-google-earth.html This proves to you that sometimes I do work...sometimes.

I have also included a photo of me riding the Google Trike when it was in town a few weeks ago. This picture was taken seconds before I fell off of it:

Love you!
